Lashonder Demery is a powerful storyteller, recovery advocate, and the author of Tears of a Lost Soul – 2nd Edition. Her writing journey began as a deeply personal act of healing. “I learned that writing freed my soul. Initially, I became a writer to heal, and I later realized my words could help heal others, too.”
Her book tells the raw and redemptive story of a woman who lost herself, literally, mind, body, and soul, through trauma, addiction, and despair. Lashonder shares how she lost her children, her hope, and her faith, and lived as a vagabond, believing she would die on crack cocaine or at someone else’s hands. But through divine intervention and faith, her life took a turn toward restoration and purpose.
Today, Lashonder uses her voice to reach survivors of abuse, individuals battling addiction, parents and children separated by loss, and anyone seeking proof that healing is possible. Her writing process is deeply personal. She wrote the book in 90 days, often starting at 4:00 a.m. in quiet solitude. Through courage and transparency, she continues to heal and inspire others to tell their own stories.
